George Graham (1770-1830) served as acting US Secretary of War from 1815-1818, president of the Washington branch of the Bank of America from 1817-1823, and from 1823-1830 as commissioner of the general land office of the United States. The family of Hale S. Mason, who came to Will County, Illinois, from Ontario County, New York, in 1834 with his wife Sabrina Codding Mason and their 3 young sons Hale, Edwin and William.
